The Metamorphosis Of An Immigrant – Maite Nazario

When I first arrived at the Latin American Association on Atlanta’s Buford Highway for Maite Nazario’s “Metamorphosis of an Immigrant” exhibition on Aug. 17, I was met with paintings and mixed media pieces that demonstrated expertise and skill that must have taken many years to develop.

Local artists are prepared to sue the city of Atlanta.  It's over proposed legislation to regulate art on private property that's visible to the public.  It would be the second lawsuit over murals this year.

Staibdance Celebrates 10 Years Of Contemporary Dance

An Atlanta contemporary dance company turns 10 this year. It’s called Staibdance and is headed by Artistic Director George Staib, who is also on the dance faculty at Emory University.

"I find there is so much life and energy in that which is spontaneous," Staib said in an interview with Lois Reitzes. "Of course we rehearse, and we work to cultivate feelings. However, the exciting thing is to see dancers feel empowered to make decisions in the moment."
