Theatre Emory is celebrating the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley’s foundational horror novel, “Frankenstein.” And Atlanta actor and director Park Krausen has created a sort of Frankenstein’s monster of her own with the show “Midnight Pillow,” which is inspired by Shelley and features the work of 13 writers from all around the world.

Whether you know him from his music or the headlines, Atlanta's Gucci Mane is a larger-than-life figure. The drug dealer turned rapper has spent his life in and out of prison, and his contributions to hip-hop, specifically trap rap, are profound.

In 2016, he finished a three-year prison sentence, and since then, he's been featured on songs with Bruno Mars and Migos, to name just a few. He has also released his own mix tapes and albums. Now, he has a book.

When you go to the movie theater, you might see a film that went through dozens of rounds of focus groups, cost tens of millions (or hundreds of millions) of dollars to make and spent a year in post-production.

Or, you might see a film with a much more modest budget, made with a crew of less than 50 and one camera. These are just some of differences between an independent film and one made with a major film studio like Columbia Pictures and 20th Century Fox.
