There is a new exhibit of Yoruban art at the High Museum. The Yoruba people number about 35 million mostly in and around Nigeria, and according to the High many African Americans are of Yoruban descent. The art work is on display through April 20th. WABE's Lois Reitzes has this report.
Since 1997, the Grammy-nominated Imani Winds, have been performing the traditional wind quintet repertoire with European, African, Latin American and American music traditions.
Motti Learner is the well known Israeli playwright and film maker. His play HARD LOVE is about a couple in love, the woman becomes increasingly religious and leaves him. And the play examines secular and sacred themes within relationships. Its being performed at Jewish Theater of the South through February 24th.
