The Atlanta City Council passed a resolution Tuesday night calling for the city police department to limit cooperation with federal immigration officials.

The resolution, which passed 9-1, came in response to President Donald Trump’s decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA), which has protected about 800,000 young immigrants across the country from deportation.

Qualifying is now over for Atlanta's November election. And one thing is already certain: there will be a lot of new faces at Atlanta City Hall.

That's because, it's not just the Mayor's seat that's up for grabs. The Atlanta City Council president post is open too, and so are seven out of the 15 other positions on City Council.

Local artists are prepared to sue the city of Atlanta.  It's over proposed legislation to regulate art on private property that's visible to the public.  It would be the second lawsuit over murals this year.
