The Atlanta Press Club Loudermilk-Young Debate Series will host debates for the offices of mayor of Atlanta and city council president on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, at Public Broadcasting Atlanta in the WABE Studios located at 740 Bismark Rd NE, Atlanta, GA, 30324.

The mayoral debate will be moderated by WABE’s Morning Edition host, Denis O’Hayer, and the journalist panel will be announced soon.


The Seven New Members Bring Significant Strategy, Communications, Marketing, Healthcare and Legal Experience

Atlanta, GA: Public Broadcasting Atlanta today announced the addition of seven new members to its newly created Advisory Board.

ATLANTA, GA: Public Broadcasting Atlanta today announced the addition of five new members to its Board of Directors: Regents Professor of Marketing Emeritus at Georgia State University Ken Bernhardt; clinical nephrologist and medical community leader William Cleveland; nationally recognized arts and marketing leader Sonya Halpern; strategic planning and economic development expert Craig Lesser; and nationally recognized leader in the field of diversity and inclusion Al Vivian.

ATLANTA, GA: WABE 90.1 will host a debate on Thursday, June 8 between Republican Karen Handel and Democrat Jon Ossoff, the candidates squaring off in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District runoff election.  The debate will last one hour and will be broadcast live on WABE 90.1 beginning at 9 a.m. It will also stream live via and on the WABE app. Also, the debate will be televised on PBA30 that evening at 7 p.m. and will re-air on WABE at 7 p.m.

ATLANTA, GA: Public Broadcasting Atlanta is pleased to announce that Paul Buckner will be the new General Manager of PBA30. As General Manager, Buckner will oversee and coordinate the operational activities, programming strategies, and administrative and business functions for PBA’s TV division. He starts February 6 and will report to Wonya Lucas, President and CEO.

Buckner has more than 20 years of broadcasting experience in both commercial and public television, most recently as Senior Vice President, Content for South Florida PBS.
